Facebook Timeline is supposed to go live for everyone on December 22, 2011, which means we are going to have a lot of angry people out there very soon! It is available right now if you like and hopefully this prepares people for the huge changes ahead! Facebook opened it up so that users can prepare themselves before the official launch. If you activate it now you can go through your Timeline and hide what you don’t want anyone to see. Once you have that done, you can either wait until December 22, or you can publish it right now!
1) Go to http://www.facebook.com/about/timeline.
2) Across the bottom of the site, there is “Cover”, “Stories”, “Apps” and a button. Click on the “Get Timeline” button.
3) This should take you back to your Facebook profile page. If you don’t want to edit anything and want to go live, you can click on “Publish Now”.
4) If you would like to edit or remove any items on your Timeline, scroll down the to item and click on the little pencil icon.

5) Once you click on that button, you will get a drop down. You can either “Hide From Timeline” or “Delete Post…”.
There are a bunch of other options Facebook Timeline gives you, but I just wanted to talk about how to activate it for the time being! If you want a full overview, Mashable has a pretty good one that you can find here: Facebook Timeline: The Complete Guide.
Enjoy!
